Our Studio Classes

At Well + Being, we are dedicated to providing our guests with a rejuvenating experience that nurtures both mind and body through a variety of studio classes and styles.

Yin

4-5min holds ( freedom to come out when you need to is always encouraged)

As we age, our bones begin to degenerate, we lose mobility in our joints, and our fascia tightens. But a consistent Yin Yoga practice helps to regain mobility and ease pain in the body. This is because it applies gentle, healthy stress to our joints and gentle stretch to our connective tissues. We create collagen and elastin, water loving molecules that hydrate our tissues and joints. Yin Yoga is an excellent counter to the more physically demanding – or yang – yoga disciplines. This deep stretching is the perfect way to end your busy day or to help balance your other physical activities so you can stay flexible to help avoid injury. Yin also balances internal organs and improves flow of prana. (chi, energy/life force)

Suitable for all ages and all levels.

Yin & Memory

3-4min holds (freedom to come out when you need to is always encouraged)

This class is an infusion of Yin yoga, breath & cross lateral movements to help engage both hemispheres of the brain.

A very important aspect to this class is Kriya yoga.

Scientists are linking a 70% reduction in memory loss through practicing Kriya Yoga. The process of performing Kriya Yoga is claimed to lead to a specific purification of the blood, freeing up the life force to withdraw into the spine. "Kriya Yoga is a simple, psycho-physiological method by which the human blood is decarbonized and recharged with oxygen. The atoms of this extra oxygen are transmuted into life currents to rejuvenate the brain and spinal centre's. By stopping the accumulation of venous blood, the human is able to lessen or prevent the decay of tissues; this transmutes cells into pure energy. Benefits of memory maintenance yoga may include improved concentration, better memory retention, reduced stress and anxiety, and an overall sense of calm and well-being.

Tibetan Yin

5-minute holds (freedom to come out when you need to is always encouraged)

Tibetan Yin is a more physical form of Yin which makes use of the 5th Tibetan Rite between Yin shapes or the use of plank to help you first gain strength. Shapes are held for 5mins. This is a great class if you are wanting to strengthen & open the entire body including the pelvic floor muscle. The 5th rite brings an immediate change in the energy currents of the body. It makes one feel strong and invigorated and brings a happy glow to the face. This is the most powerful rite in terms of speeding up the chakric vortexes ( our bodies energy system) A great practice to bring into one’s life if You are also wanting to strengthen the whole body in one strong intentional movement.

Suitable for those that have practiced Yin before.

First-Timers Yin

3-4min holds (freedom to come out when you need to is always encouraged)

This is a great class to start your journey of Yin. A slow meditative series of breath, postures practiced help strengthen and clean the brain, bone & blood. Creative freedom & softness is always encouraged in this class - an opportunity to check in with self and breath. This is your time & your practice; a time to listen to your body needs.

Deep Yin

In this class we go deeper, holding shapes for 7-10 min (freedom to come out when you need to is always encouraged).

In these long held shapes we create collagen and elastin, water loving molecules that hydrate our tissues and joints.

Deep Yin is an excellent counter to the more physically demanding – or yang – yoga disciplines. This deep stretching is the perfect way to end your busy day or to help balance your other physical activities so you can stay flexible to help avoid injury. Vinyasa

Vinyasa yoga is a flowing, dynamic style of yoga that synchronizes breath with movement, creating a moving meditation. This practice builds strength, flexibility, and endurance while promoting mindfulness and stress reduction. By linking breath with movement, Vinyasa yoga can help improve cardiovascular health, increase energy levels, and promote mental clarity and focus. Regular practice can also help cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness and inner peace.

Barre Yoga

Barre Yoga is a mindful flow class that works at the barre combining Barre balance work, Yoga and Pilates. Each class has a unique focus. Sometimes working on the upper body using resistance bands, other classes focusing on hips and knee alignment. Barre Yoga has helped hundreds of people overcome injuries and alter poor movement patterns and has been recommended as a rehab program from Physiotherapists and Chiropractors. The music is soft, melodic chilled beats. Breath is cued to help correlate breath to movement ensuring oxygenation of muscles, effective use of energy and a sense of calm.

Barre Yoga is both calming and energising. It is elongating and strengthening. Barre Yoga is for all ages and levels.

I am new to yoga; what class should I start with?

If you are new to yoga, it is recommended to start with a beginner-level class. These classes will introduce you to the basic yoga postures and breathing techniques and will help you build a strong foundation for your practice. You can look for classes labelled as "Beginner," or "Gentle," to find a class that is appropriate for your skill level. Additionally, you can ask any of the team for recommendations.

Can I do yoga if I have an injury or health condition?

Yes, you can do yoga if you have an injury or health condition, but it's always recommended to speak with your doctor before starting any new exercise program. You should also inform your yoga teacher of any injuries or health conditions you have before the class begins. They may be able to provide modifications or adjustments to help you safely practice. It's also important to listen to your body and not push yourself beyond your limits.

What should I wear?

For a yoga class, it's best to wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows you to move freely. You will be moving through various yoga postures, so it's important that your clothes do not restrict your movement. It's also a good idea to wear clothing that is not too loose or baggy, as this can get in the way during certain postures. Avoid wearing anything too tight or restrictive, as this can make it difficult to breathe properly. As for shoes, typically, no shoes are worn during yoga class, so either wear socks or go barefoot.

Do I need my own mat?

You are welcome to bring your own mat. However, we do have eco-friendly mats available to use for free at the studio

Are there changing rooms and showers available?

Our facilities include changing rooms and a powder room for your convenience before or after class. If you're looking to freshen up with a shower, we recommend booking one of our sauna, float or contrast sessions which all come equipped with a shower

Can I eat before attending a yoga class?

It is generally recommended to avoid eating a heavy meal 2-3 hours before a yoga class. Eating a large meal before practising can make you feel uncomfortable and sluggish during class. It is also important to stay hydrated before, during and after the class, so make sure to drink plenty of water.

Are there any age restrictions for taking yoga classes?

There are typically no age restrictions for taking yoga classes. Yoga is a practice that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. However, it's always a good idea to check with the studio team or the instructor before attending a class, as some classes may be more physically demanding and may not be suitable for certain ages or abilities. If you have any concerns or doubts, it's always best to ask the instructor or our studio team if they have any classes that would be more appropriate for you.

Can I drop in for a class, or do I need to pre-register?
