I am new to movement; what class should I start with?

If you're new to physical activity, we suggest beginning with a class designed for beginners. These classes are designed to familiarise you with fundamental techniques, enabling you to establish a solid groundwork for your practice. Look for classes with the words "Beginner," "Gentle," or "Foundations" in their class description to ensure they match your skill level. Moreover, feel free to seek recommendations from our team members; they'll be happy to assist you in making the right choice.

Can I do your classes if I have an injury or health condition?

Yes, you can do most of our movement classes if you have an injury or health condition, but it's always recommended to speak with your doctor before starting any new exercise program. You should also inform your teacher of any injuries or health conditions you have before the class begins. They may be able to provide modifications or adjustments to help you safely practice. It's also important to listen to your body and not push yourself beyond your limits.

What should I wear?

For our Reformer classes, it's best to wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows you to move freely. You will be moving through various postures & exercises, so it's important that your clothes do not restrict your movement. It's also a good idea to wear clothing that is not too loose or baggy, as this can get in the way during certain postures. Avoid wearing anything too tight or restrictive, as this can make it difficult to breathe properly. As for shoes, typically, no shoes are worn in our movement studio, so either wear socks (we have some great non-slip socks available for purchase) or go barefoot.

Do I need my own mat?

You are welcome to bring your own mat. However, we do have eco-friendly mats available to use for free at the studio.

Are there changing rooms and showers available?

Our facilities include changing rooms and a powder room for your convenience before or after class. If you're looking to freshen up with a shower, we recommend booking one of our sauna, float or contrast sessions which all come equipped with a shower. Alternatively, there is a single shower on site, please ask one of our wellbeing attendees if you would like to use this after your class.

Can I eat before attending a movement class?

It is generally recommended to avoid eating a heavy meal 2-3 hours before a movement class. Eating a large meal before practising can make you feel uncomfortable and sluggish during class. It is also important to stay hydrated before, during and after the class, so make sure to drink plenty of water.

Are there any age restrictions for taking a movement class?

There are typically no age restrictions for taking our movement classes. These classes can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. However, it's always a good idea to check with the studio team or the instructor before attending a class, as some classes may be more physically demanding and may not be suitable for certain ages or abilities. If you have any concerns or doubts, it's always best to ask the instructor or our studio team if they have any classes that would be more appropriate for you.

Can I drop in for a class, or do I need to pre-register?

To make sure you have a space its best to reserve online in advance, you can view our timetable above to book.

Are there any membership or package deals available?
