Decreases Anxiety and Stress

Research has shown that massage can help reduce anxiety and stress by lowering hormones such as norepinephrine, epinephrine, and cortisol, that in turn help reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure, slow breathing, and relax muscles. Massage has also been shown to increase levels of oxytocin, a hormone that increases social bonding and behaviours like trustworthiness, generosity, and empathy. 

Reduces Migraines and Chronic Headaches

Research has shown that massage can also help reduce migraines and headaches while also improving the quality of sleep.

Decreases Pain & Fibromyalgia

Massage has been shown to reduce the activation of pain receptors in the spinal cord and muscles. It’s best to have a light meal 60 to 90 mins. before your session, rather than floating with a full or empty stomach.

Dress Comfortably

How you dress is your choice, some wear bathing suits while others go naked, however, we ask that you sit on one of our organic cotton towels.

Don't Stress Over Time

Lay back and relax, don’t worry about the time as our wellness attendees will let you know when your session is over.

Focus On Your Breath

If your mind is busy, you have difficulty relaxing it’s helpful to focus on your breathing.

What should I wear during compression therapy?

Compression therapy is done with clothes on, we recommend comfortable yoga or workout clothes.

What should I wear for my massage?

It is most common for clients to completely undress for their massage, especially if it is a full body massage, where the therapist will be working across your whole body. However, it’s completely up to you what you want to wear; undress to your level of comfort.

When should I arrive for my appointment?

For your first session, we recommend arriving no later than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This ensures we can give you a full walkthrough beforehand without taking away from your time in the therapy.

Any sessions past your first time, you can arrive 5 minutes before.

Who cannot use compression or massage therapy?

If you have any ongoing health conditions, such as the following, you must book an appointment to chat with one of our doctor’s first, you can also ask your regular GP.

  • asthma or other breathing conditions
  • heart disease
  • pregnancy
  • epilepsy
  • very high or very low blood pressure
  • people under the influence of alcohol, those taking stimulants, tranquillizers, or other mind-altering drugs

Can I use compression or massage therapy if I'm pregnant?

We recommend checking with one of our doctor’s first, or ask your regular GP.
